Are You Looking for a 24VDC to 48VDC Converter?

MEAN WELL RSD 200

If you are looking for a 24VDC to 48VDC converter, ADM has several DC-DC converter options that would suit the 24VDC input to 48VDC output industrial application.

DDR Series: DIN-Mount DC-DC Converters

Within the DDR series of DIN-mounted DC-DC converters, there are three models available to convert 24VDC input to 48VDC output.

These MEAN WELL models are:

SD Series: Enclosed Case DC-DC Converters

Within the SD series of DC-DC converters, there are four models available to convert 24VDC input to 48VDC output.

What is a DC-DC Converter For?

There are two reasons why you would need a DC to DC converter: first is to convert the DC voltage to what is required to run the equipment, and second is to stabilise or to “clean up” the DC output to match the exact voltage required.

Allow us to explain this in detail.

To convert: If you are using a battery or a PV system (solar panel system), you will first need to convert the DC voltage provided by either of these two sources to the DC voltage required by your equipment to run.

For example, if you need to run a fridge in a caravan, the fridge usually requires 24V, but the caravan is rated at 12V, your DC-DC converter will then convert the supply voltage to the required voltage of the fridge.

To stabilise or “clean up”: Your battery or PV system may have a 12V output rating, but this can fluctuate between 11V to 13V. Since your electronic equipment is sensitive, it needs to get the exact voltage to run efficiently and to prevent breakdown. Your DC to DC converter (may be referred to as a DC regulator in this application) will then ensure that the voltage supplied remains constant regardless of the voltage fluctuation from the power source.
