DC-DC Converters
A DC-DC converter is an electronic device that converts direct current (DC) electricity from one voltage level to another, either stepping it up or down as needed. For example, it can efficiently reduce 24VDC to 5VDC for microprocessors, ensuring the device receives the precise power it requires. This allows for optimised energy use and power distribution management in electronic systems from mobile devices to industrial machinery.
As the name suggests, a DC-DC converter cannot work with AC source, as they are specifically designed to operate with direct current inputs and outputs.
