MEAN WELL GST SERIES LOW COST POWER SUPPLIES

The MEAN WELL GST series power adapter is a low cost, highly flexible power supply stocked by ADM that is widely used in many different applications.

It can even be used to power more than one item, or product from a single power supply.

This is because MEAN WELL GST power supplies with a power output of 25 up to 280 watts have afactory fitted, industry standard inline 2.1mm, 2.5mm or 4 PIN DC Jack connectors.

2.1mm DC Splitter Cables for MEAN WELL Power Supplies

Each of the products in question can be fitted with an inline 2.1mm DC jack plug. This means that installation of the power supply is very quick and keeps the associated costs to the bare minimum.

All the installer needs to do is connect a splitter cable to the output connector on the MEAN WELL power supply, and then plug the products into the splitter cable. The power supply is then plugged into a wall socket and the job is done.

There is one aspect of the MEAN WELL GST power supplies that you need to be aware of.

There is a specific electrical safety standard in Australia for LED power supplies. This is IEC 61347-2-13:2006 with AS/NZS 61347.1:2002.

Although the GST series carries Australian electrical safety approvals it has been tested and certified according to a different standard. This means it is not suitable for LED lighting projects.

If you need a power supply that is certified to IEC 61347-2-13:2006 with AS/NZS 61347.1:2002 don’t worry. ADM carries a wide range of LED drivers with this certification.
