Power Supplies with High Output Voltages

ADM offers the MEAN WELL CSP-3000 series power supplies with high output voltages.

Historically MEAN WELL has only offered power supplies with an output voltage no higher than 54VDC.

The CSP-3000 series has broken this glass ceiling with output voltages of 120VDC, 250VDC and 400VDC.

Features

Up to 3 MEAN WELL CSP-3000 power supplies can be connected in parallel to deliver a total power output of up to 7200 WATTS. This is made possible by MEAN WELL’s current sharing function.

Both the output voltage and current can be set remotely by applying a 2-10VDC analogue signal. This means the output of CSP-3000 power supplies can be controlled via a PLC, or other upper-level control system as part of an automated process.

These power supplies can also be switched on and off remotely and there is an alarm output to allow remote monitoring of the power supply’s status. There is also a 12V / 0.4A auxiliary output to power control devices, fans, etc.

LED Lighting Applications

MEAN WELL’s new CSP-3000 power supplies can also be used to power LED lighting applications.

They will operate in constant voltage, or constant current mode. The data sheet outlines the principles of driving LEDS and states the forward voltage range for constant current mode.

It should be noted that the CSP-3000 series is not tested and certified to AS/NZS IEC 61347.2.13:2013 AS/NZS 61347.1:2002. This means it cannot be used as an in-line, or external LED driver. It is designed to be used as a component within a piece of finished equipment, and that equipment would need to be submitted for the relevant electrical safety standards that apply to the finished equipment in question.
